Okay, ladies! Let’s talk menopause! There’s no need to hide it. Women all go through it. And trying to go it alone only makes symptoms and the overall experience worse.

I’ve recently had a lot of women who are making their way to or through menopause talk with me about how exhausted they feel. Not just every now and then, but all the time. No matter how much sleep they get (if they can get any), they’re still dragging themselves through the day. Feeling this kind of menopause fatigue takes a toll on your whole life. It affects your performance at work, how you interact with your family, and your sex life. And importantly, it affects how you feel about, and view, the world.

I want you to know three things:

  • You aren’t imagining this.
  • Neither have you done anything wrong.
  • You don’t have to work harder.

As women, it’s easy for us to blame things on ourselves and jump to “I’m not doing it right” or “I’m not good enough” when we can’t live up to our own or others’ expectations. But menopause fatigue is a very real and very common symptom of our journey into menopause.

What Makes This Menopause Fatigue?

Okay. You work hard, so it’s normal to feel overtired or overworked from time to time. That type of fatigue comes and goes and is pretty easy to recover from.

The unrelenting exhaustion that is menopause fatigue

  • lasts longer,
  • is more severe,
  • isn’t cured with rest,
  • leaves you feeling constantly drained,
  • destroys concentration, and
  • crushes motivation.

Why Menopause Fatigue?

Aren’t hot flashes, night sweats, and brain fog enough?

Menopausal symptoms tend to be closely related. For example, hormonal roller coasters can lead to hot flashes and night sweats that can wake you up in the middle of the night. Hormone imbalances can also lead to changes in your brain chemistry that can trigger your brain to wake up frequently throughout the night. The result can be that crashing fatigue you’re feeling.

What Can You Do About Menopause Fatigue?

There are some things you can try at home to manage menopause symptoms, like eating soy-rich foods, avoiding spicy foods, exercising regularly, and wearing lightweight clothing. However, if you’re crashing out with menopause fatigue, these solutions may not be very effective.

The most effective solution for menopause fatigue and menopausal hormone imbalance is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT).

BHRT uses bioidentical hormones derived from natural, plant-based substances to rebalance your hormone levels. The structure of bioidentical hormones is chemically identical to your own hormones, making them more effective and safe than artificial hormones.

Boosting hormone levels with BHRT can therefore increase your energy and decrease:

  • Night sweats
  • Hot flashes
  • Weight gain
  • Memory loss
  • Sleep issues
  • Mood swings
  • Sexual dysfunction

We can deliver BHRT to your body via creams, pills, patches, and pellets.
